What is a base commission?

Base commission jobs are positions where employees receive a fixed base salary in addition to earning commissions based on their sales or performance. This pay structure provides a guaranteed income while also incentivizing employees to exceed targets and increase their earnings. Base commission roles are common in sales, real estate, and financial services, offering both financial stability and the potential for higher income through successful performance.

How does a base commission structure influence teamwork and individual performance in sales roles?

A base commission structure provides a fixed salary along with performance-based incentives, which helps balance financial security and motivation for sales professionals. This model encourages healthy competition while reducing stress associated with 100% commission roles. Teamwork is often promoted, as the base pay allows representatives to support one another without feeling that their entire income is at stake. Additionally, it fosters a more collaborative environment where knowledge sharing and mentoring are common, benefiting both individual and team performance.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a base commission sales representative, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Base Commission Sales Representative, you need strong sales acumen, product knowledge, and typically a high school diploma or higher. Familiarity with CRM software, sales tracking tools, and sometimes certification in sales techniques is often required. Outstanding communication, resilience, and persuasive negotiation skills make someone stand out in this role. These skills are crucial for building client relationships, achieving targets, and maximizing earnings in a competitive sales environment.

APPOINTMENT SETTER (HIGH-PERFORMANCE ROLE) - WORKOUT ANYTIME
Are you tired of pulling more weight than your peers and not being compensated for it?
Good. This position is for top performers who believe in themselves and want to get paid on their abilities, not the status quo.
THE ROLE
Your job is simple:
Turn leads into booked appointments.
Turn booked appointments into people who show up.
Turn show-ups into revenue.
You will be responsible for:
  • Making 100-150+ outbound calls per shift
  • Following up with leads who didn't respond
  • Rebooking missed appointments (no-call/no-shows = opportunity)
  • Setting qualified appointments for our coaching team
  • Driving show rate and ultimately closing revenue

This is a production-based role
You are measured by output, not effort. You will receive sales and fitness training to ensure the knowledge to succeed.
COMPENSATION
  • Base hourly pay
  • 10-20% commission on sales generated from your appointments
  • Paid per appointment that shows
  • Bonus tiers for hitting booking and revenue targets

You might be a fit if:
  • You are energetic, outgoing, and confident on the phone
  • You have 1+ years of sales experience (fitness, retail, automotive, or similar)
  • You have a base understanding of fitness
  • You know how to build trust and guide conversations
  • You are competitive and don't like losing
  • You can handle rejection without slowing down
  • You show up on time and take ownership of your results

Bonus points if you have experience in:
  • Supplement sales
  • Gym membership sales
  • Personal training or fitness environments

WHAT WINNING LOOKS LIKE
  • 100-150+ calls per shift
  • 10+ appointments set per shift
  • Strong show rate
  • Consistent revenue generated from your pipeline

WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS
Most gyms sell access.
We don't.
We sell results, coaching, supplements, nutrition and real change
You are the front line of that process.
You are the reason people walk through the door and start.
GROWTH & UPSIDE
Top performers don't stay in the same spot.
  • Opportunity for up to a 20% raise within your first 90 days based on performance
  • Quarterly sales bonuses up to $1,000

If you produce, you move up. Simple as that.
Compensation: $2,500.00 - $3,500.00 per month
