You'll also support capital projects, system lifecycle activities, reliability improvements, commissioning and qualification, and continuous improvement initiatives. The primary focus of this role is strong plant-utilities and operational engineering expertise, with the opportunity to contribute to broader facility and engineering initiatives.
How You Will Contribute:Provide engineering support and troubleshooting for plant and facility utility systems, including HVAC, chillers, cooling towers, boilers, controlled-temperature chambers, water systems, compressed air, and related distribution systems.
Serve as a technical resource for assigned systems, supporting system reliability, performance monitoring, lifecycle management, and operational continuity.
Partner closely with Maintenance and Facilities teams to troubleshoot equipment issues, identify root causes, and develop sustainable corrective actions.
Monitor system performance and analyze operational data to identify opportunities to improve reliability, capacity, efficiency, maintainability, and manufacturing continuity.
Develop and review engineering deliverables, including P&IDs/PNIDs, process flow diagrams, system specifications, sequence of operations, and functional specifications.
Support system modifications through cGMP change control, including risk assessments, technical evaluations, and implementation activities.
Develop and execute Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), commissioning protocols, qualification protocols, and other engineering testing activities.
Develop and support robust preventive maintenance, calibration, and reliability strategies for assigned systems.
Lead or support investigations into system deviations, equipment failures, and recurring issues while developing appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
Lead or support capital projects and facility modifications from concept through implementation, including contractor and vendor coordination.
Support equipment qualification, validation, decommissioning, and ongoing operational support throughout the system lifecycle.
Utilize tools such as Building Automation Systems (BAS), data historians, CMMS, and other facility/utility monitoring systems to support troubleshooting and system optimization.
Identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency, water usage, equipment reliability, and operating costs while supporting site sustainability objectives.
Serve as a technical SME during audits, inspections, and other compliance activities as required.
Participate in the site's 24/7 on-call support rotation and provide occasional after-hours or weekend engineering support based on business needs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering required, preferably Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or a related engineering discipline, with 3+ years of relevant engineering experience.
Experience supporting plant utilities, facility utilities, HVAC, or dark/gray utility systems in an operational manufacturing environment.
Strong technical experience with systems such as HVAC, chillers, cooling towers, boilers, controlled-temperature chambers, water systems, or related utility infrastructure.
Experience troubleshooting equipment and utility systems and developing practical, cost-effective, and sustainable engineering solutions.
Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, PNIDs, process flow diagrams, utility schematics, equipment specifications, and engineering drawings.
Experience supporting capital projects, equipment modifications, system assessments, commissioning, qualification, or facility expansion projects.
