About the role
The CDL Driver II will perform duties associated with transporting non-hazardous materials between Reworld facilities and treatment, transfer, and disposal locations. This role is primarily a shuttle position, operating a straight body truck on short, local routes with frequent loading and unloading in tight spaces. Drivers may occasionally operate tanker equipment as business needs require.
This position is home daily and does not involve over-the-road travel.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Operate a straight body commercial vehicle to shuttle non-hazardous materials between Reworld facilities and nearby transfer or treatment locations while following all DOT and company safety requirements
  • Perform frequent starts, stops, backing, docking, and maneuvering in tight areas
  • Load and unload materials by operating hydraulic systems, securing and releasing cables, and opening and closing container latches
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicle and equipment
  • Safely operate vehicle-mounted hydraulic and mechanical systems

Additional Responsibilities
  • Complete required administrative paperwork related to transportation and equipment, including logs, inspection reports, delivery documentation, and trip records
  • Maintain clear communication with dispatch, site personnel, and other drivers regarding pickups, drop-offs, delays, and operational issues
  • Ensure vehicle condition and cleanliness meet company standards
  • Follow routing instructions using maps, directions, and on-site guidance
  • Work safely at all times with attention to public, customer, and coworker safety
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support operations

Required Qualifications
  • Valid CDL Class A license
  • Minimum age of 21 due to federal interstate and commercial driving regulations
  • Acceptable motor vehicle record
  • Ability to back, dock, and maneuver a straight body truck in confined spaces
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions

Preferred Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Tanker endorsement preferred but not required
  • HazMat endorsement preferred but not required
  • Two or more years of commercial driving experience
  • Previous straight truck, shuttle, or local delivery experience

Physical Demands
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and climb for extended periods
  • Ability to push, pull, reach, grasp, and operate mechanical controls
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in tight spaces and around equipment
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Required visual and hearing abilities for safe operation

Schedule and Work Environment
  • Typical schedule is approximately 6:30 AM to 4:00 PM
  • Home daily
  • Routes are primarily short and local, with most runs within close proximity to the facility
  • Assigned straight body truck, typically a Kenworth T880 model year 2015 to 2023

The range below reflects Reworld's reasonable estimate of base pay for this role based on primary posting location. It is expected that most qualified candidates in this location will fall within the posting range. The final salary offered for this role will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to: experience, education, geographic location, skills and competencies, travel requirements and/or union contracts (if applicable). Pay ranges are reviewed from time to time and may be modified in the future.
The pay range for the primary location of this position is: 20.53 - 27.31 USD per hour
