Job description

Barstool Sports is looking for an experienced, results-driven Sales Director to join our Ad Sales team in New York. The ideal candidate is a proven digital media seller with a strong track record of driving significant revenue, developing high-value partnerships, and building lasting relationships with senior-level clients and agency partners.
This individual will be responsible for growing a portfolio of key accounts while proactively identifying and closing new business opportunities for the company. The ideal candidate brings an established network, deep knowledge of the digital media and advertising landscape, and the ability to navigate complex, consultative sales cycles. They are entrepreneurial, highly motivated, and comfortable operating autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
What You'll Do
  • Own and grow a portfolio of key brand and agency relationships with accountability for achieving and exceeding revenue targets
  • Identify, prospect, and secure new business opportunities while expanding existing client partnerships
  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and initial outreach through proposal development, negotiation, closing, and renewal
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior-level decision-makers across brands and agencies
  • Develop strategic account plans and identify opportunities to increase revenue across Barstool Sports' portfolio of advertising, content, social, experiential, and integrated partnership offerings
  • Lead complex, high-value negotiations and develop customized partnership solutions that align client objectives with Barstool's capabilities
  • Partner closely with Marketing, Client Solutions, Content, and other internal teams to develop and execute strategic programs for clients
  • Create compelling, insight-driven sales presentations and proposals leveraging market trends, audience insights, and relevant case studies
  • Maintain a strong understanding of client business objectives, industry trends, competitive activity, and the evolving digital media landscape
  • Develop accurate revenue forecasts, manage pipeline activity, and maintain visibility into account opportunities and risks
  • Identify new opportunities, categories, and partnership models that can drive incremental revenue
  • Serve as a trusted strategic partner to clients, providing recommendations and solutions that address their evolving business needs
  • Represent Barstool Sports at industry events, client meetings, and other networking opportunities as needed

What You Have
  • 8+ years of experience in digital media and advertising, with 5+ years of integrated sales experience, or a related revenue-generating role
  • Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding significant revenue goals
  • Demonstrated experience prospecting, developing, negotiating, and closing complex, high-value partnerships
  • Deep understanding of digital media, branded content, social, experiential, and integrated advertising solutions
  • Strong consultative selling skills with the ability to translate client objectives into creative, strategic partnerships
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to confidently engage and influence senior-level and executive stakeholders
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze market trends, client needs, and revenue opportunities
  • Highly organized and self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple accounts, opportunities, and priorities independently
  • Experience with CRM platforms such as Salesforce and proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience

Salary Range: $150,000-160,000 & commission eligible
