Job description

We are currently seeking a talented individual to become a Receiving Barn Assistant. An individual could be successful if they possess the following.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Receiving Barn Assistant is responsible for overseeing all horses to the receiving barn and coordinate the arrival and departure time with trainers.
  • Make sure stalls are clean and properly bedded
  • Assign stalls to trainers arriving that day
  • Assign racing slips
  • Get stakes stalls prepped for horses arriving in other barns
  • Ability to work required overtime
  • Regular punctual attendance
  • Must be able to read, write legibly, understand and speak English
  • Ability to work at a fast pace in often crowded/noisy environment
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work weekends, evenings and holidays
  • Ability to stand for periods of time and work in inclement weather when necessary
  • Punctual attendance required
  • Ability to work required overtime.
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Employee must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.
