Job description

What We're Looking For:
Barge Design Solutions, Inc. is seeking a motivated Sr. Roadway Engineer to join our growing team in Nashville, TN. In this role, you will take an active part in delivering meaningful infrastructure solutions that directly impact the communities we serve. This role serves as a subject matter specialist in design concepts, principles and methods. You will be responsible for technical design and preparation and production of plan sets. You may work on multiple moderate to major projects as a technical lead as well as mentor junior staff and provide quality control and quality assurance.
Responsibilities
  • Design and documentation of technical solutions for transportation projects.
  • Brings significant technical design expertise in all facets of roadway design such as new alignments, intersections, interchanges, sidewalks and greenways.
  • Supports Engineering Manager and Project Manager as a technical leader.
  • Reviews complete project designs/documents for conformity and quality.
  • Leads complex technical portions of meetings with clients, customers, contractors, and others.
  • Develops strong relationships with clients, customers, contractors, and others.
  • Mentors junior engineers and other design staff.

Education & Experience Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited program.
  • Minimum 10 years of roadway engineering experience.
  • Registered PE.
  • Extensive knowledge and expertise in CADD software. OpenRoads Designer a plus.
  • Experience with TDOT policies and procedures a plus.
