Job description

The ConstructionAdministrator serves as the owner's and design professional'srepresentative during construction, providing leadership, oversight, andcoordination to ensure projects are delivered in accordance with contractdocuments, design intent, quality standards, and client expectations. This rolemanages construction phase activities, facilitates communication among projectstakeholders, reviews submittals and RFIs, resolves field issues, and supportssuccessful project delivery from pre-construction through closeout.

The preferred location forthis position is Nashville, TN, however, Orlando, Florida and remote U.S.-basedcandidates will also be considered. Because this role supports projects acrossBarge's national footprint, regular travel to project sites throughout theUnited States, including overnight stays, is required.

This position will primarilysupport healthcare facility projects, requiring an understanding of healthcareconstruction environments, stakeholder coordination, regulatory considerations,operational continuity, and the unique challenges associated with constructionin active healthcare settings. Experience supporting hospitals, medical officebuildings, ambulatory care facilities, specialty healthcare facilities, orother healthcare-related construction projects is highly desirable.  Experience withFlorida AHCA State Health entity is also highly desirable.

The ideal candidate bringsstrong construction administration experience, sound technical judgment, andthe ability to effectively lead project coordination efforts in dynamic fieldenvironments. Success in this role requires a collaborative, client-focusedprofessional who can build strong relationships with owners, contractors,architects, engineers, healthcare administrators, and project stakeholderswhile driving projects forward with a commitment to quality, safety, serviceexcellence, and minimal disruption to ongoing facility operations.

Responsibilities

  • Providesoverall coordination and management as the client representative on a varietyof construction projects from pre-construction, construction, and close-out.
  • Studies and understands the requirements of project contract documents for avariety of projects.
  • Oversees the construction phases of work including quality control,constructability, and completeness providing regular updates to the ProjectManager (PM) and/ or design team. 
  • Observe and document construction activities for improvement.
  • Review and enforce architecture relatedspecifications and drawings.  Coordinatechanges with the design professional and contractor.
  • Leads various kick off meetings and monthly meetings providing updates tostakeholders.
  • Assists Project Managers (PM) and/or design professional with their duties onassigned projects.
  • Consults with the design professional on more complex matters concerningacceptability of products materials, or workmanship and all matters ofinterpretation of contract documents  (shop drawings/ submittals).
  • Manages submittal reviews and Requests for Information (RFI's) from thecontractor.  Consults with designprofessional for more complex requests.
  • Facilitates resolution of project issues that occur during the course ofconstruction. 
  • Promote health and safety in all aspects of project execution.
  • May mentor and train other field representatives.
  • Employee will be regularly exposed to moderate or high noiselevel, extreme outside weather conditions, uneven, steep, confined areas,slippery terrain conditions, dusty conditions and wet and/or humidconditions.  Must be regularly work inconditions with stair climbing.  Use ofladders to reach and assess work is also common throughout the day.
  • Employee will be exposed to moving mechanical parts and heavyequipment operation.
  • Possession of a valid state issued Driver's License and requiredauto insurance.
  • Must be willing to travel to projects by car or air and stay outof town overnight for extended periods of time.
