Job description

General Purpose:
SEMO Tank (a wholly owned subsidiary of Dairy Farmers of America) sells, leases, and repairs tank trailers and offers a vast inventory of related parts for resale. This position requires the ability to perform active work throughout the scheduled shift and coordinate the timely processing of incoming shipments, confirming physical receipt of items to PO's and packing slips.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide outstanding service by ensuring customer orders are processed both timely and accurately and that any customer concerns are addressed promptly by all members of the team
  • Assist all departments in locating and delivering parts to the appropriate areas within the company
  • Unload and unpack incoming shipments and identify items for accuracy and correct quantities
  • Retrieve pick tickets from the sales team; pick, verify, and stage items from inventory; and prepare orders for shipment, including both small parcel (ground) and palletized freight shipments
  • Package, label, and organize shipments appropriately-boxing ground orders and palletizing larger orders for scheduled freight pickup
  • Determine the most efficient and cost-effective shipping method based on order requirements
  • Coordinate carrier pickups (parcel and freight) and generate all required shipping documentation
  • Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing shipments
  • Consolidate shipping orders when applicable to improve efficiency and reduce costs
  • Identify and assemble product hose assemblies
  • Work in conjunction with SEMO's Purchasing & Inventory Manager to ensure inventory accuracy
  • Work in conjunction with SEMO's Purchasing & Inventory Manager to identify and correct inventory deficiencies
  • Attend departmental training, such as safety and equipment training
  • Possess sufficient strength and physical dexterity to lift 25-55 lbs. frequently demands and work environment to perform the duties and responsibilities of this job
  • Wear required PPE at all times and observe health, safety, and environmental policies
  • Exhibit the values and ethics of Dairy Farmers of America through honesty, discretion, and sound judgment

Minimum Requirements:
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Prior forklift operating experience preferred
  • Experience using a barcode scanner in a warehouse setting preferred
  • SAP or other ERP system experience preferred
  • Certification and/or license - N/A
