THE ROLE

Fishers Event Center has an excellent and immediate opening for a part-time Bar Back.This positionis responsible forthe overallstocking, replenishing, cleaning, maintenance, andpreparation of beveragesof alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including inventory.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for completing tasks related to stocking, replenishing, cleaning, maintenance, and preparation of beverages under the guidance of the Bartender.

  • Maintains and stocks adequate supplies of bar items such as glasses, cups, napkins, drink supplies, condiments, etc.

  • Wash glasses and other serving equipment at bars.

  • Stock refrigerating units with wines, beer, replace beer kegs, etc.

  • Replenish ice atbar.

  • Clean and polish bar, counters, shelves, equipment, bar stools, etc.

  • Prepare food items needed in the preparation of drinks.

  • Trash pickup and disposal at bar and bar service areas.

  • Maintain personal health and sanitation standards (wash hands when usingrestroom, etc.)

  • Review work procedures and operational problems todetermineways to improve service, performance, and/or safety.

  • Step in toassistother Food & Beverage areas as needed

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • 1-2 yearsofexperience in food service and/or working in a bar environmentpreferred.

Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing guest and personal services; this includes guest needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of guest satisfaction.

  • Good oral communication skills

  • Professionalism in handling all matters.

  • Ability to understand orders and understand information/ideas presented in writing.

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
