North Colorado Medical Center has been a leader in providing the latest health care facilities, technology and service to Weld County, northern Colorado and our surrounding multi-state region for more than 100 years.

As a Patient Transporter, you will play a vital role in the safety of our patients by assisting nurses with moving/transporting patients throughout the facility with various equipment, including wheelchairs and stretchers. Transporters are constantly on the move in this fast-paced environment, walking the equivalent of 7-10 miles per shift! You will have the opportunity to build relationships with the goal of making an impact on our patients at such an important time in their lives.

Schedule:

  • Shift times will vary between the operating hours of Monday-Friday from 6am-11pm and Saturdays-Sunday from 6:30am-11pm and will be based on business needs.
  • You will be able to pick an available shift that comes open on a day-to-day basis.
  • You must complete 80 hours of training within a three-week period before you can pick any shifts to work.

Registry/Per Diem positions do not have guaranteed hours and no medical benefits package is offered. Registry/Per Diem positions require a minimum of 2 shifts a month commitment. Completion of post-offer Occupational Health physical assessment, drug screen and background check (includes employment, criminal and education) is required.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position transports patients and distributes requested items as needed throughout the facility in accordance with department/facility policies, procedures and protocols.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Transports patients safely and efficiently between various departments following appropriate transfer techniques and proper isolation/infection control procedures. Validates patients’ identity based on established department protocol. Remains alert to patient condition and promptly communicates changes to clinical staff.
2. Assists with patient handling and lifting using appropriate patient safety equipment and appropriate safety procedures.
3. Provides distribution services of requested items between various departments as needed in accordance with established procedures that may include medications.
4. Responds to all job calls in a timely manner. May utilize computer system to track and update requests. Communicates status updates and location information as required in accordance with department protocols to help facilitate work flow.
5. Collects, cleans and disinfects patient care equipment and all other reusable items.
6. May perform supply restocking or assume clerical duties of assigned area as necessary.
7. May be required to operate golf cart to provide distribution services.
8. May be required to transport deceased persons to the facility morgue.
9. Facility based position. Responsible for the timely delivery of services with a strong focus on customer service. Customers are staff, physicians, patients, family members and visitors.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Certification for BLS is required.
Requires interpersonal skills to operate in a direct patient contact environment. Ability to interpret verbal and written information/instructions and effectively communicate with others. Must demonstrate basic knowledge of computer skills, organizational skills, problem solving skills, and ability to function with minimal direction in a fast paced environment. If required by facility, may be required to possess a valid driver’s license and be eligible for coverage under the company’s auto insurance policy.

Employees working at Banner Behavioral Health Hospital must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment. An Arizona Criminal History Affidavit must be signed upon hire.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
Six months previous healthcare or customer service experience preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.

Estimated Pay Range:

$16.00 - $24.00 / hour Banner Health is committed to pay equity and transparency. The posted compensation range is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay Banner Health in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. This range is based on possible base salaries and does not include the value of our total rewards package. Actual pay determined at offer will be based on years of relevant work experience, education, certifications, skills, and geographic location, along with a review of current employees in similar roles to ensure pay equity is achieved and maintained.
