Job description
As a CoVantage team member, you'll receive a 401k employer match of up to 200%, a bonus of annual salary up to 8%, a generous employer HSA contribution, and paid time off for community service.
Job Duties:
- Develop and implement the Member Solutions department policies and procedures consistent with applicable laws and regulations to be used throughout CoVantage offices
- Coordinate and delegate workload while providing mentorship, coaching and support to Consumer Specialists including routine one-on-one training
- Organizes time and resources ensuring the consumer collectors' time is spent effectively working with members and accounts are being followed up on appropriately
- Ensures self and staff remain up-to-date and informed in credit union policy and procedures including legal aspects of collecting, filing insurance claims, sending demands and right to cure notices, as well as collection laws including applicable FDCPA and bankruptcy laws
This individual may be expected to work required late night shifts per week and Saturdays as indicated on the Member Solutions schedule.
Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree or 5 years' experience in consumer collections and/or loan processing/servicing or other customer service within a financial institution
- Have a valid driver's license as some travel is required
- Knowledge around Bankruptcy laws including bankruptcy 7 and 13 and experience working with bankruptcy situations and attorneys
- General knowledge of federal and state applicable collection laws and regulations
- General exposure of the liquidation of foreclosed property and possession of collateral on commercial and consumer loans
- Basic understanding of repossession law and requirements
- Minimum 3 years supervisory/management experience desired
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work in direct, professional contact with a wide variety of people on a daily basis
- General understanding of the handling of small claims actions for a financial institution
- Candidates able to read, write, and speak Spanish are strongly encouraged to apply
