SUMMARY: Processes routine retail banking transactions accurately and efficiently for personal and commercial customers while balancing daily work in accordance with established policies and procedures. Promotes bank products and services, supports branch sales and account servicing efforts, and provides administrative assistance to Personal Banking Officers and Branch Management. Performs related duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greets, assists, and directs walk-in clients to the appropriate employee or department, as applicable.
  • Processes a variety of customer transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, loan payments, savings bond redemptions, foreign currency orders, and cashier’s check issuance.

    Balances daily transactions and the teller cash drawer in accordance with established policies and procedures; organizes and scans transaction documents for processing. May be assigned ATM and/or branch vault balancing responsibilities.

  • Provides exceptional customer service through courteous, professional interactions that strengthen customer relationships and support loyalty.

  • Identifies customer needs, promotes appropriate bank products and services, and makes referrals to Personal Bankers and other business partners as needed.

  • Assists with operational duties, including shipment verification, cash ordering, audit tasks, and safe deposit customer service.

  • Assists Personal Banking Officers and Branch Management with client account servicing and administration, including account changes, debit card orders, and wire transfers.

  • Provides administrative support to the branch team during the new account opening process. Ensures compliance and proper documentation requirements are met in accordance with internal policies and procedures for new accounts and service transactions.

  • Ensures transactions are processed in compliance with internal policies, procedures, and documentation requirements. Prepares applicable BSA/AML transaction reports as required.

  • Minimizes the bank’s liability exposure by adhering to established policies and procedures, internal controls, and legal and regulatory guidelines. Identifies fraudulent transactions, forgeries, and counterfeit bills, and follows established security controls to protect the branch from criminal and fraudulent activity.

  • Participates in sales campaigns and supports in-house marketing events, as needed.

  • Provides support to the Digital & Treasury Services department, as needed.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent; Associate degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college preferred. Minimum two years of retail banking-related experience including Teller or retail banking client service experience. 
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients by phone or in person in a dynamic work environment. 
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of standard bank products, policies, and procedures. 
  • Multi-task oriented with strong organizational skills. 
  • Computer proficient in Outlook, MS Word, and Excel.
