Job description

Overview:

As a Business Banking Operations Associate, you will play a critical behind-the-scenes role in supporting business customers whose accounts have entered default and require specialized management. Acting as a key operational partner to Collections, Workout Officers, Portfolio Analysts, and Legal Liaisons, you'll help ensure accounts are transferred, maintained, and managed accurately throughout the workout process. This role serves as the central point of coordination between multiple teams, ensuring account information, documentation, and system records are complete, accurate, and compliant. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the transfer of business banking accounts from Collections to the Workout Department, ensuring all required information and documentation are complete and accurately maintained.

  • Create, maintain, and update customer transfer files across multiple bank systems.

  • Review and validate account information, documentation, and work completed by business partners to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to established procedures.

  • Generate and process documentation including demand letters, appraisal orders, check requests, payment histories, bankruptcy proofs of claim, and other workout-related materials.

  • Support legal, repossession, recovery, and Small Business Administration (SBA) claim processes through research, documentation gathering, and administrative support.

  • Perform account maintenance, system updates, tracking, and reporting activities throughout the lifecycle of a workout account.

  • Monitor and process payments, deposit account offsets, overdraft transactions, and related reporting.

  • Research account remediation cases and maintain supporting documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements.

  • Collaborate with internal partners across Collections, Workout, Legal, Recovery, and other business areas to ensure smooth workflow execution and timely resolution of requests.

  • Manage a high volume of email communication and shared work queues while prioritizing multiple competing requests.

  • Adhere to all compliance, operational risk, and internal control standards.

  • Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced, process-driven environment.

  • Experience managing high-volume email workflows and shared team inboxes.

  • Internship experience, banking experience, or relevant business coursework.

Work Model & Office Location:

  • This is a hybrid role that requires in-office attendance Monday through Thursday, with remote work available on Fridays.

  • Eligible candidates must live within reasonable commuting distance to 475 Crosspoint Parkway, Getzville, NY 14068

Required Availability/Scheduled Shift:

  • Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm
