  • Validate client data, ensure accuracy, and enable clients to produce reliable profitability reports.

  • Provide training and knowledge transfer to help clients independently manage and customize their profitability reporting.

Job description

The Company

Empyrean Solutions specializes in Financial Risk and Performance Management solutions for financial institutions. Empyrean offers a comprehensive suite of software products to power balance sheet simulations for asset-liability management, financial planning and analysis, capital stress testing, and funds transfer pricing. We deliver a complete solution that offers comfort to regulators and empowers institutions to manage risk and build stable long-term earnings.

The Team

The planning and profitability experts of the Professional Services team help financial institutions harness the full potential of Empyrean's Profitability product through implementation services, consulting, training, and support. The Bank Profitability Software Consultant works directly with banks and credit unions to configure the solution, validate data, deliver training, and help clients build toward their ideal-state profitability reporting.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver successful implementations of Empyrean's Profitability Solutions, taking clients from project initiation through go-live on a well-configured, sustainable model.

  • Translate each client's profitability objectives and reporting needs into an implementation approach their team can own and maintain.

  • Ensure profitability dimensions, hierarchies, and allocation logic are configured to produce accurate, decision-ready results, including capital, ACL, and provision allocations.

  • Ensure client data supporting profitability is complete, reconciled, and reliable as the foundation for reporting.

  • Enable clients to produce and trust their profitability reporting across customer, instrument, product, and organizational views.

  • Equip clients to independently administer the solution and build their own reporting through effective training and knowledge transfer.

  • Advise clients on best practices for data management, reporting, and profitability measurement.

  • Serve as a liaison between the client user community and Empyrean's product management team, channeling client needs into product direction.

  • Apply AI-assisted tools and repeatable processes to deliver value more efficiently and consistently, and contribute to improving those processes over time.

  • Safeguard sensitive customer data by following all applicable policies and controls and using approved channels for data transmission.

  • Perform other job duties and assignments as needed and directed.

Required Experience
  • Degree in finance, accounting, economics, mathematics, or a related discipline.

  • A minimum of two years of experience in banking, financial services, FP&A, or financial technology.

  • Solid understanding of the banking industry, accounting, and financial statements.

  • Strong knowledge of Excel and experience working with large datasets.

  • Strong attention to detail and good planning and organization skills.

  • Experience with business intelligence tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.).

  • Comfortable following and improving structured processes.

  • Demonstrated AI literacy in a professional environment and sound judgment about when and how to apply it, including awareness of data-handling and confidentiality considerations.

Preferred Skills
  • Working knowledge of bank profitability concepts, including Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP), cost allocation, and product, customer, instrument, and organizational profitability measurement.

  • Familiarity with fixed-income cashflow calculation and fixed income math.

  • Familiarity with risk-based / regulatory capital attribution and allowance (ACL/ALLL) calculations.

  • Experience implementing planning or profitability solutions at a financial institution.

  • Experience with financial data management, ETL tools, and Microsoft Power Query.

  • Knowledge of SQL or other data-analysis tools.

  • Prior consulting, implementation, or customer-success experience.

  • Experience building or improving repeatable, AI-assisted workflows.
