Job description

Summary

The Commercial Support Coordinator serves as an ongoing contact for clients, helping them collect and complete any necessary documents through the loan process. The role also supports internal parties through a client’s loan origination, renewal and/or periodic portfolio management. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of commercial loan processes, due diligence, and loan documentation, will be skilled in communicating effectively with external and internal clients, and operates in an organized and efficient manner.

 

Responsibilities

  • Engage with commercial clients as an additional contact point with a focus on facilitating loan origination and servicing requests
  • Create, maintain and verify relationship and collateral records in the Bank’s loan origination system
  • Support the Bank’s Lending Team by preparing loan closing needs lists and gathering customer information, such as entity documentation, background searches, and insurance documentation 
  • Order initial due diligence documents such as UCC searches, Title work, and flood searches in preparation for loan closings
  • Coordinate with Loan Administration creation of internal or attorney prepared loan documentation and review draft documentation with the Lending and/or SBA teams prior to closing
  • Compile and image entity docuemnts within the Bank’s loan origination system
  • Maintain a working knowledge of Commercial Loan due diligence, risk management requirements, and loan policy and procedure
  • Act as a liaison between Commercial clients and internal departments for servicing needs on their accounts and loans
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred; High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in a commercial banking department, although a combination of related experience and education may meet requirements
  • Experience with the nCino Loan Origination System is preferred
  • Experience with a broad range of commercial loan products, including Commercial Real Estate, Commercial and Industrial (C&I) lending, and SBA Lending is preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A positive and collaborative approach with both peers and management
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work on consistently changing priorities with enthusiasm
  • Outstanding people skills – will be frequently working with clients in a time-sensitive environment
  • Excellent data entry and computer skills, including Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel)
  • Strong ability to grasp concepts and processes


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Reporting Structure: Reports to the Commercial Support Manager 

Office Requirements: This position is required to work from a Fortis Bank office location at least 4 days per week
