What is the opportunity?

RBC Capital Markets Global Investment Banking division is seeking an Analyst to join the Diversified Coverage team in Montreal. This position is a unique opportunity to develop a broad financial skillset and gain exposure to global capital markets. The role is intended for individuals who wish to build a long-term career in Investment Banking with a market leading franchise and global platform.

What will you do?

  • Evaluating and analyzing the financial needs of corporate clients, including developing and preserving complex financial models

  • Supporting transaction structuring and execution efforts, with increasing levels of responsibility and accountability over time

  • Financial and written analysis of companies and industries

  • Contributing to the delivery of client meetings and presentations

  • Conducting research to analyze market trends

  • Researching and analyzing future opportunities

  • Contribute to the execution of equity and debt financings, mergers and acquisitions, and financial advisory assignments

What do you need to succeed?

Must have's

  • Bilingualism (English and French) required, as you will regularly serve our clients and do business with RBC partners and/or employees across Canada with English and French speaking needs.

  • 1-2 years of investment banking, private equity, equity research, corporate development or accounting experience

  • Undergraduate degree program in Finance, Accounting, Engineering or a quantitative field from a leading university

  • Strong quantitative skills focused on financial analysis, accounting and financial theory

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • A high level of attention to detail

  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced and challenging environment

  • Value and possess strong competency in the following behaviours: Collaboration, Relationship Building, Communication, Integrity and Operating with Diverse and Inclusive Mindset

  • The ability to perform effectively in a team environment and excel under pressure amid demanding deadlines
