Job description

Lamar National Bank in Celina, TX is seeking a talented and driven Universal Banker to join it's growing team!

Summary: Accurately executes the customer’s financial transactions including the handling of currency and coin, providing information in a timely and precise manner and to promote and maintain positive customer experiences and relationships; and promotes the Bank’s culture, increasing the support of our Vision by performing the following duties:

  • Executes customer's financial transactions (such as deposits, withdrawals, transfers, cashed checks, etc.) in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Balances the cash drawer daily to ensure accuracy of all transactions, keeps cash drawer secure and within established limits, and investigates and resolves drawer outages.
  • Prepares and verifies accurateness of proof work.
  • Processes cash advances, stop payment requests, wire requests, and sells and redeems savings bonds.
  • Issues Cashier's Checks, Money Orders and Gift Cards.
  • Places holds on deposits, when applicable, following Reg CC guidelines
  • May order currency, ship money in and out, and balance banking center vault.
  • Prepares and submits monetary instrument and Cashier's log as necessary.
  • Prepares and submits teller cash balancing report as necessary.
  • Prepares currency transaction reports as required.
  • Identifies and processes collection items.
  • Recommends bank products and services to develop customer relationships in order to support the growth objectives of the bank.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. Prior Universal Banker experience is highly preferred.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of the Internet, Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to use basic office machines. Ability to learn bank-specific software.

Languages Spoken/Written: Bilingual (Spanish) a plus, but not required.
