Job Description

U.S. Bank is seeking a full-time Application Systems Administrator (Multiple openings) in Hopkins, MN.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Supports the installation, configuration, and maintenance of purchased applications or application frameworks;
  • Participates in testing and installing new software releases and application system upgrades;
  • Maintains a comprehensive operating system hardware and software configuration database/library of all supporting documentation to ensure data integrity;
  • Participates with application system problem resolution by working with application developers, vendors and internal infrastructure team members to troubleshoot;
  • Install, configure, and upgrade IBM Cloud Pak for Business Automation (CP4BA) components on OpenShift or other supported platforms;
  • Support traditional IBM BAW, and IBM Cloudpak for Business Automation;
  • Migrating BPM applications from VMs to the Cloud (ARO);
  • Work closely with development and business process teams to support application deployments and configuration changes;
  • Maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and processes; and
  • Coordinate with IBM support for issue resolution and best practices guidance.

Use the following tools and technologies: IBM Cloud Pak for Business Automation components (IBM BAW, IBM ODM, IBM Process Mining), Azure Redhat OpenShift, containerization (Kubernetes/OpenShift), Linux administration and scripting (Bash, Python), PL/SQL, SQL Server, APM tools (AppD, Splunk, IBM Instana, DataDog), JIRA, Confluence, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps tools., FileNet, and RPA.

Basic Qualifications:

This position requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Electronics Engineering and 5 years (progressive, post-baccalaureate) systems administration experience.

Required Skills/Experience:


Must also have 24 months of experience with each of the following: 1) Installing, configuring, upgrading, and supporting IBM Cloud Pak for Business Automation components (IBM BAW, IBM ODM, IBM Process Mining). 2) Using the following: Kubernetes, OpenShift, Bash, Python, PL/SQL, SQL Server, JIRA, and Confluence. 3) Migrating BPM applications from VMs to the Cloud. 4) Working with application performance management (APM) tools including AppD, Splunk, IBM Instana, and DataDog. 5) Using GitLab CI/CD pipelines develop Terraform, Ansible, Python, and shell scripting to build Azure ARO clusters and integrate ARO security controls.
