Description
The Universal Banker operates as a multi-functional financial services professional in a small retail banking environment. This hybrid role seamlessly integrates high-volume teller transactions, comprehensive deposit operations, and consumer/small business loan operations into a single point of contact for bank customers. The ideal candidate switches fluidly between transaction processing, account management, and credit operations while maintaining strict regulatory compliance and accuracy.
Requirements
Core Responsibilities
1. Front-Line Teller Operations (40%)
  • Process comprehensive customer transactions including cash deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, check cashing, and official check issuance.
  • Operate, balance, and maintain accountability for an assigned cash drawer
  • Verify endorsements, counter-presents, signatures, and customer identities to proactively mitigate fraud and transaction risk.
  • Manage branch vault cash, ATM balancing, and night depository processing as assigned by management.

2. Deposit Operations & Account Servicing (30%)
  • Run daily work
  • Scan CIF, deposit, and debit card forms
  • Posting Loan Payments / Advances
  • Account reconciliation for all branches
  • Conduct comprehensive account maintenance including processing wire transfers, stop payments, address updates, ACH originations, and debit card dispute management and travel notices. Will also order, print, and reorder debit cards.
  • Resolve complex customer service inquiries regarding statement discrepancies, fee reversals, online banking access, and uncollected funds.
  • Exception processing
  • Generate student graduate letters

3. Loan Operations & Processing (30%)
  • Responsible for monitoring and maintaining information within the core system for insurance, financial statements, taxes, titles, etc.
  • Responsible for post-closing follow up duties and maintaining accurate and up-to-date loan files.
  • Processes and presents all necessary filing, recording and acknowledgement instruments to public officials to perfect the bank's lien priority position
  • Scans all loan documents into the document imaging system
  • Provide general administrative and operational support for the loan department
  • Perform local loan servicing functions including processing loan payoffs, perfecting collateral (UCC-1 filings, vehicle liens), and managing local exception lists.

Schedule Requirements
Monday - Friday with Saturday morning rotation
