Labcorp is seeking a Blood Bank Sr. Technologist to join our team at Emmanuel Hospital in Portland ,OR
Work Schedule: Evening Shift: 1:00PM-9:30PM Monday-Friday , rotating every other weekend
Job Responsibilities
  • Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
  • Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
  • Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
  • Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving
  • Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
  • Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care
  • Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures
  • Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
  • Assist with processing of specimens when needed
  • Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
  • 4 yearsor moreof clinical laboratory testing experience
  • ASCP or AMT certification

Preferred Qualification:
  • 3 yearor more years clinical laboratory testing experience in Blood Bank
  • 1 year or more years of experience with QC review, testing look-backs, and FDA requirements related to Blood Bank operations
Additional Job Standards
  • Proficient with computers; Familiarity SafeTrace, and EPIC Beaker.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
  • Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
