Scope:ย ย 

The Universal Banker I will accurately and efficiently process and record transactions for bank customers.ย 


Accountabilities:

The Universal Banker I will:

  • Be knowledgeable on, promote, cross-sell and advise on the bank's products and services.
  • Communicate tactfully and cordially to encourage satisfaction with our service.
  • Receive and count working cash, identify customers, validate and cash checks, accept cash and checks for deposit and check all documents for accuracy using the teller system and electronic cash machine system ensuring both systems are accurate and run efficiently.
  • Receive and verify all forms of payment and record all transactions accurately using the teller computer system.
  • Balance the vault, ATM and cash drawers against the teller computer system numbers verifying accuracy and proper working of the computer system.
  • Comply with bank operations and security procedures by participating in all dual-control functions.
  • Maintain customer confidence and protect bank operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Answer phones.
  • Greet and direct customers entering the bank.
  • Ensure compliance with all internal controls with established policies and procedures.
  • Resolve issues and problems with customer's accounts.ย 
  • Sell and buy money from the Federal Reserve.
  • Order supplies.
  • Open new lock boxes.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Participate in community activities as needed and any other activities that may arise.
  • Perform other duties as requested or assigned.




Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Education:
  • A High School Diploma
  • Specific banking and computer industry education a plus


  • Experience:
  • Clerical, administrative, cash handling, sales or customer service experience preferred
