Job description

Treasury and Government Banking Officer II
This position is responsible for obtaining and retaining Treasury Management and Government Banking clients at the Bank. The Treasury and Government Banking Officer II is responsible for providing cash flow solutions to clients and prospects, while maintaining and growing a client portfolio. The position partners with commercial relationship managers, branch managers, other business and government services officers, and financial services, to originate new and existing customer fee income and core deposit growth. This position handles larger and more complex clients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Solicits business from current and prospective customers directly via marketing, sales strategies, leads and referrals to develop new sources of fee income and to foster new and existing customer core deposit growth, including checking and savings account balances, merchant services, card services, courier services, online banking and other related business depository products and Treasury Management solutions.
2. Works independently to establish new relationships and sources of fee income and refers prospects to business partners. Proactively calls jointly with commercial relationship managers and branch managers or independently, to develop new deposit and fee relationships with businesses, municipalities and non-profit organizations in the Bank's market footprint that both do and do not currently have a relationship with the bank.
3. Works effectively with the Director of Treasury Management Sales and Services and the Director of Government Banking to deliver effective sales solutions and maintain a best-in-class cost of funds to the Bank.
4. Assists with onboarding of new clients.
5. Develops a network of referral sources.
6. Coaches and develops Business Banking, Retail and Commercial Relationship partners in the effective delivery of appropriate solutions.
7. Maintains high visibility within the market by involvement with community events and organizations.
8. Prepare effective proposals, agreements and sales presentations that demonstrate an expert level of Commercial and/or Government Banking revenue cycle management.
9. Analyze clients' needs and recommend the appropriate products and services.
10. Participates in the development of new deposit and Treasury Management products as directed.
11. Informs and advises customers of status or enhancements to current account productivity and suggests resolution on account disputes and other account activity. Stays up to date on current trends in the Treasury Management and Government Banking fields and market conditions.
12. Promotes and cross-sells other Bank products and services as appropriate to customer requirements.
13. Manages and develops larger and more complex business, government and non-profit customer relationships.
14. Ensures that their work is in compliance with applicable laws, regulations and guidelines including but not limited to BSA, CIP, Red Flags, KYC and anti-money laundering policies.
15. Complies with all banking-related laws and regulations communicated to the employee through training and/or written correspondence and those requirements reflected in the Bank's policies and procedures applicable to the employee's duties and/or areas of responsibility. Protects all customer information and institution assets and complies with privacy and acceptable use policies.
16. Other related duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strongly encouraged to actively engage in continuing professional education to obtain or maintain industry credentialing such as CTP certification.
Other Qualifications:
  • Requires a minimum of seven to ten years of related experience with a wide variety of banking products and services knowledge.
  • Proven experience successfully managing a portfolio.
  • Proven business development capabilities with ability to conceptualize and implement new business strategies/products.
  • Demonstrates proven and refined negotiation skills to be utilized on sales calls.
  • Previous experience with outside calling.
  • Represents bank in professional manner.
  • Ability to cross-sell other bank products and services.
  • Willingness to travel and work a flexible schedule to meet customer needs.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Proven communication and interpersonal skills.
