Job description

We are seeking an experienced Compliance Officer to become part of our TNBANK team! You will be responsible for managing all aspects of regulatory compliance and internal audit activities, ensuring overall compliance with policy/procedure and laws/regulations. Serves as primary core resource on compliance questions and assists management in the design and implementation of appropriate policies, procedures, and systems. Performs limited internal audits and oversees, supervises, and reports over all outsourced audit program; organizes regulatory examinations.
Responsibilities:
  • Implements and adjust to new regulations passed by state or federal government bodies. Develops, initiates, maintains, and revises policies and procedures for the general operations of the Bank related to the compliance function and its activities to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct.
  • Monitors the performance of the compliance programs and related activities taking appropriates steps to improve its effectiveness. Exercises discretion and use of independent judgement with respect to matters of significance.
  • Reports to Bank Management Team on the effectiveness of the Bank's risk Management Program.
  • Stays abreast of changes in regulation, guidance, and best practices to inform the Bank's Management and provide information on compliance changes that may affect the institution.
  • Manages, mentors, guides, and assists to the BSA Officer in coordinating and overseeing an effective Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering/OFAC Compliance Program in line with current industry best practices, regulatory guidance, and requirements.
  • Supports and regulates various departments to ensure proper implementation and evaluation of policies and procedures for compliance with federal and state laws and regulations.
  • Develops and presents compliance training sessions on current and new regulations for the Board of Directors, Management and oversees the training of newly recruited personnel and Bank staff.
  • Identifies potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk through analysis and assessment. Develops, implements, and audits a plan of action for all areas by conducting research on established banking laws to ensure non-violation of all laws.
  • Initiate solutions to address identified risks. Develops corrective action plans for problematic issues and provides guidance on resolution and future prevention and mitigation. (Monitoring)
  • Performs internal audits for Retail, Loans and Secondary Market. Act as liaison/contact for Federal examinations and internal and external independent reviews or audits of Compliance areas. Participates in response to exam and audit concerns and oversees corrective action of all related compliance deficiencies or violations
  • Prepares reports for Management and the Board of Directors concerning the compliance function including scope and results of compliance audits.
  • Reports illegal financial activities to proper authorities to protect the reputation of our Bank.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with BSA/AML/OFAC policies, procedures, and processes as it pertains to the compliance role in the Bank.

  • Experienced Banking Compliance Officer with compliance certification(s) preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of Bank regulations and guidance and best practices surrounding them.
  • Positive, organized and possesses the initiative to drive projects and matters to resolution
  • Compliance or related experience in financial services industry or bank regulatory agency with knowledge of consumer banking regulations, digital banking services and the expectations of regulators for an effective compliance program
  • Work under pressure with aggressive timelines and manage multiple concurrent responsibilities and prioritize according to shifting and sometimes accelerated deadlines
