Summary:
The Equity Consumer Loan Consultant Sr proactively communicates with branch colleagues and customers throughout the origination process of consumer lending products. Manages a pipeline of consumer loan applications and assists in obtaining the information necessary to meet underwriting requirements. Primary focus is getting loans ready to close, and works diligently with branch colleagues, 3rd party service providers, and customers to achieve this objective. Highly customer focused position. Demonstrates a high sense of urgency in all activities to meet the needs of the customer. Works as the customer's champion in the lending process.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Manages a pipeline of consumer loan applications.
  • Interacts directly with customers, internal partners such as bankers and underwriters, and third party service providers in the origination of consumer loan applications.
  • Communicates by phone and email in a proactive, sales-oriented manner.
  • Communicates terms, requirements, and conditions of customer's loan application and obtains customer acceptance.
  • Expedites the origination process by keeping all parties up to date on the status of the application and communicating new information relevant to the transaction.
  • Follows up with the customer, banker, and others as needed on any outstanding documents needed to satisfy underwriting requirements.
  • Researches and resolves issues related to the application.
  • Sells features and benefits of products to customers, cross-sells other products and services, up-sells loan amounts, and encourages additional account usage.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3 or more years' experience in consumer lending or mortgage sales or processing.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Excellent customer service skills, highly motivated, focused and goal oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including professional grammar and demeanor
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, planning and follow-up
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
