Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Senior Construction Project Manager to be based in Napa, CA

  • Provides overall management administration to project and assists in establishing project specific objectives and policies. 
  • Provides technical direction and guidance to subordinate managers, enforces company and project policies, maintains close client interface, and ensures all facets of the project are constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule through subordinate managers and supervisors. 
  • Position has significant profit/loss responsibility for assigned construction project.
  • Leads the procurement of construction services, contract award & buy-out, authoring of RFI’s, and ability to produce contract documents.
  • Contract Administration – Ability to process contractor pay applications, evaluate and process change orders, analyze and maintain tracking sheets and records, perform inspection walks with bank inspectors, inspect and approve work in place, document stored materials and monitor punch/warranty work.
  • Management, coordination, and inspection of contractor work while project is in progress and be able to contribute feedback that might make work safer, cheaper, cleaner, lower impact or any other way improve the operational success of the projects.
  • Track change order requests & problem issues and react to feedback from client personnel, prepare reports on project details and communicate overall project goals and details to senior asset/investment/construction managers.
  • Maintain project management logs (RFIs, changes, submittals, construction documents, FF&E, close-out).
  • Familiarity with accepted buildings practices, materials and techniques, knowledge of common and general code requirements, SFM, DSA, ADA requirements, mechanical systems and components, permitting processes and requirements, market pricing and lien waivers.
  • Control and monitor project budget & schedule.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS + 6 Years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications:

  • California Public Works Experience

  • Ability to organize and manage contractors on complex projects and coordinate with public agency.

  • Thorough knowledge of engineering and construction principles, practices and procedures, applicable laws and government regulations, principles of management and supervision and procedures and policies of departments and facility.

  • Experience in mechanical systems (Steam) and electrical switchgear replacement projects.

  • Demonstrate proactive problem-solving skills

  • Strong customer service skills

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Experience in the public contract code arena

  • Possess a thorough knowledge of contract administration and office procedures
