ABOUT THE ROLE
The Solutions Engineer serves as the technical and product expert supporting fintech partners throughout the full lifecycle-from solution design and onboarding to implementation and ongoing optimization. This role sits at the intersection of banking, technology, compliance and partner management. This role blends product expertise, regulatory awareness, and hands-on problem solving to ensure that fintechs can successfully build, launch, and scale financial products in partnership with the bank. You'll work closely with internal team- compliance, risk, product, engineering, and operations-while guiding external partners through technical integrations, solution design, and ongoing optimization.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Partner Integration & Technical Enablement
  • Translate partner business models into compliant, scalable technical solutions using the banks and partners APIs, systems, and operational workflows.
  • Lead technical discovery sessions, architecture reviews, and integration planning with fintech partners.
  • Provide hands on support during onboarding, including API/SFTP troubleshooting, data mapping, and workflow configuration.
  • Document integration patterns, best practices, and partner specific requirements.

Product & Solution Design
  • Collaborate with product, compliance and technology teams to design solutions that align with regulatory requirements and the bank's risk appetite.
  • Recommend technical approaches that balance partner needs with operational feasibility and compliance constraints.
  • Identify gaps in current capabilities and advocate for enhancements that improve partner experience or operational efficiency.

Technical Support & Issue Resolution
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex technical issues across payments, ledgering, KYC/KYB, card issuing, ACH, wires, or other sponsor bank services.
  • Monitor partner performance and proactively identify areas for optimization or risk mitigation.

Cross Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with compliance and risk teams to ensure partner implementations adhere to regulatory and program requirements.
  • Partner with operations to streamline processes and ensure smooth day to day execution of partner programs.
  • Provide feedback to product teams based on partner needs, market trends, and integration challenges.

Partner Relationship Management
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor to fintech partners throughout the lifecycle of the relationship.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts in clear, business friendly language.
  • Support partner growth by identifying opportunities to expand product usage or improve performance.

EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum 5-7 years' experience, including time at a sponsor bank or BaaS provider, plus experience navigating regulatory requirements and leading complex, multi-stakeholder implementations
  • Relevant experience in fintech, banking-as-a-service, payments, or financial infrastructure platforms.

  • Strong understanding of funds flows, APIs, data structures, and system integrations.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues across multiple systems and stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with compliance-driven domains such as KYC/KYB, AML, card issuing, or payments operations.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate between technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred
  • Experience working at a sponsor bank, BaaS provider, or fintech infrastructure platform.
  • Knowledge of core banking systems, ledgering, and payment rails (ACH, RTP, card networks, wires).
  • Background in solution architecture, technical consulting, or implementation engineering.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and operate in a fast-moving regulatory environment.
