Description:

John Marshall Bank is seeking a Fraud Specialist I to support our security, compliance, and fraud operations. You will perform a variety of duties, with a primary focus on identifying and preventing fraudulent activity. Daily responsibilities include reviewing items through the OASIS system and providing critical operational support within the Deposit Operations department.


In this role you will:

  • Review checks and ACHs for possible or suspected fraud items, using the Oasis fraud module and other software solutions, and work to resolve for pay or return decision. This role will be the primary person responsible for this.
  • Report any fraudulent items that have been identified that need to be returned to the Deposit Operations team
  • Take steps to address fraud alerts received for Zelle and BillPay items flagged as potential fraud.
  • Provide branches with guidance on the necessary steps needing to be taken when a client’s account has been compromised (i.e. placing account in credits only status, closing the account and reopening a new account, etc.)
  • Make recommendations on enhancements, upgrades and efficiencies to procedures and protocols
  • Maintain fraud case spreadsheets and files, providing updates on the status of current fraud investigations.
  • Crosstrain with team members to learn BSA duties and support as needed.
  • Serve as the back up to the Fraud Analyst II-Team Lead.
  • Various other duties as needed or assigned.
Requirements:

Required

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of banking experience
  • Strong Intrapersonal skills
  • Ability to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision
  • Capable of managing a high-volume workload without compromising on accuracy or efficiency, while maintaining composure and exercising sound judgment.
  • Capable of performing responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines/requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace.
  • Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising the highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.


Preferred

  • Experience in Fraud Prevention
  • Experience using banking systems: OASIS, Horizon, Image Center


Compensation for this role ranges from $24.00 to $30.00 per hour, commensurate with your experience and qualifications.
