POSITION PURPOSE

The Mortgage Accounting Admin works as part of the finance and accounting mortgage team, reporting directly to the SVP Mortgage Accounting Manager, performing various accounting and control functions dealing with residential loans purchased and originated for sale and for investment, loan purchase commitments, mortgage servicing rights (MSRs), and short-term financing associated with these activities. This position maintains and reconciles related loans, MSR, MLO commissions, other general ledger accounts.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

  • Process daily/weekly deposits (title checks)
  • Manage 1st payments due to Prosperity Bank
  • Data Entry - all funding wire GL entries
  • Manage mortgage expense reports/submissions
  • Process A/P for the mortgage department
  • Assist with tracking appraisal funds and payments
  • Scanning
  • Filing
  • Customer service calls
  • Manage mortgage DDA accounts
  • Research loan related issues

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Certification: High School Graduate plus 2-year Degree preferred


Required Knowledge:

Experience Required: 2+ years mortgage and /or accounting experience preferred

Skills/Abilities: Ability to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time.

Must be detail oriented.

Ability to work overtime when required to meet deadlines.


PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION

ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly.

Average Hearing: Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.

Repetitive Motion: Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hands, and/or

fingers.

Average Visual Abilities: Average, ordinary, visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or

products, or operate machinery.

Physical Strength: Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Exerts up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally. (Almost all office jobs.)

WORKING CONDITIONS

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data

Able to interpret a variety of technical instructions and can deal with multiple

Mathematics Ability: Ability to compute discount, interest, profit, and loss; commission markup and

selling price; and ratio, proportion, and percentage.

Able to perform very simple algebra.

Language Ability: Ability to read periodicals, journals, manuals, dictionaries, thesauruses, and

encyclopedias.
