Description:

Summary of the Position: As a Controller you will be responsible for planning and directing the accounting operations of the Nestucca Ridge Family of Companies. You will oversee the people and processes of the day-to-day operation of the Accounting Department.

Key Accountabilities:

· Oversee the people and processes of the Accounting Department, which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, monthly, and annual financial statements, and bank reconciliations.

· Supports the Director of Accounting in the preparation of periodic financial statements, activity reports, financial forecasts, and annual budgets.

· Owns Standard Operating Procedures documentation.

· Ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) or international financial reporting standards.

· Oversee training programs and identify training needs.

· Ensure proper inventory practices are being upheld by all locations.

· Advise business units on and assist with implementation of accounting and budgeting policies.

· Execute recommended benchmarks that will be used to measure the company’s performance.

· Provide financial analysis, with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.

· Ensure all files are organized and ready for audit upon request.

· Monitors budget vs actual variances. Escalate to Director of Accounting when needed.

· Work with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual audit.

· Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.

· Highly collaborative with leadership and communicate key levers to improve margins.

· Train and develop finance and operations teams on financial acumen and policies.

Requirements:

Preferred Skills:

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business Administration.

· Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation preferred.

· 5+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in the hospitality/restaurant industry

· Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

· Prioritize conflicting needs; handle matters expeditiously, proactively, and follow-through on projects to successful completion, often with deadline pressures.

· Demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making capability.

· Be a forward-looking thinker who actively seeks opportunities and proposes solutions.

· Advanced level interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders, including employees, managers, and vendors.
