Job description

Kitty Hawk Technologies, a growing service and technology innovator, is seeking talented and motivated professionals to deliver lean and effective solutions to our government partners. We have an immediate opening for a Senior Test & Evaluation (T&E) Engineer to join our team. This position will provide an opportunity to develop the innovative technology that supports some of our nation’s most important defense initiatives. Kitty Hawk employees work closely with our customers to develop solutions that support national engineering and security missions, and the ideal candidate will support our team in providing program support to the Department of Defense (DoD). They will be able to clearly define and clearly articulate compelling solutions and will require an ability to quickly assimilate and apply complex technical information.

Kitty Hawk Technologies is currently seeking a Senior T&E Engineer in support of DoW engineering services to work in the Dahlgren, Virginia area Key Responsibilities:
  • Supports MDA Capability Insertion team as a DT/OT representative and Test Director
  • Communicates extensively with OPTEVFOR and fleet representatives to ensure T&E requirements, plans, and execution meet DT/OT requirements
  • Chairs the Test and Evaluation Working Groups (TEWG) and coordinates the development of test artifacts, coordinates test planning across stakeholders
  • Supports the execution of test objectives at land-based test sites, MOCs, and shipboard as required and acts as a Test Director at MDA/ABS led efforts
  • Participates in event planning and execution including System Test Events (STEs), Data Analysis Working Groups (DAWGS), and Fleet Demonstrations to ensure Capability Insertion requirements are supported at sites and with the fleet
Requirements Required Qualifications:
  • At least Fifteen years of DoD Systems Engineering, Test Engineering, or US Navy Operational Experience with Surface Combat Systems
  • Active Top Secret Clearance with ability to gain SCI or active TS/SCI Eligibility – U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • At least Seven Years Surface Navy Combat Systems engineering experience with U.S. Surface Navy Combat Systems, Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense, or US Navy missile/weapon control systems
  • Demonstrated proficiency in U.S. Surface Navy Combat Systems, Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense, or US Navy missile systems
  • Demonstrated proficiency in DoD Test Engineering
  • Experience coordinating engineering efforts with OPTEVFOR and DOT&E
Desired Qualifications:
  • Twenty years of DoD Systems Engineering, Test Engineering, or US Navy Operational Experience with Surface Combat Systems
  • Fifteen Years Surface Navy Combat Systems engineering experience with U.S. Surface Navy Combat Systems, Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense, or US Navy missile/weapon control systems
  • Extensive experience conducting distributed test events as a Test Director
  • US Navy Operational experience as a Surface Warfare Officer (SWO)
  • Expertise with Naval Surface Warfare or Missile Defense Agency programs and architectures
  • Extensive experience with Navy combat systems engineering activities
  • Active TS/SCI
