Job Title: Adjunct Instructor of Dance

Position Type: Adjunct Faculty, Exempt, Part-Time
Job Summary
Bethel University is accepting applications for the adjunct faculty role of Instructor of Dance. This position is responsible for teaching dance coursework as assigned by the department chair. Areas of instruction may include ballet, jazz, tap, and musical theatre dance.
Essential Job Functions
  • Teach dance curriculum as assigned by the department chair.
  • Prepare and deliver instruction appropriate to assigned dance courses.
  • Support student learning and skill development in dance techniques and performance.
  • Maintain a professional and collegial learning environment.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of three years of teaching experience in public or private education.
  • Experience teaching one or more of the following areas preferred: ballet, jazz and tap, or musical theatre dance.
Performance Measurements
  • Prompt scheduling and reporting of grades to the Music Department supervisor.
  • Maintenance of a collegial, professional work environment and attitude when working with students, faculty, and staff.
  • Completion of yearly evaluations.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
Work normally involves contact with persons beyond immediate associates, generally regarding routine matters for the purpose of giving or obtaining information. Such interactions may require discretion. Outside contacts may include service to the public, including visitors or vendors, requiring ordinary courtesy in providing assistance and information.
The position may require occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
