Job description

Summary/Objective

The CNC Operator is responsible for operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines to produce high-quality parts to specification. This role involves loading materials, running production cycles, and monitoring machine performance to identify and address issues such as worn or damaged tooling. The CNC Operator supports production efficiency by running jobs accurately, communicating effectively with team members, and maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment.


Essential Functions

  • Performs all assigned machine shop operations
  • Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to management
  • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed safety procedures
  • Regularly performs milling, turning, drilling, tapping, de-burring, sawing and sanding tasks
  • Produce parts according to approved drawings from Samson Controls
  • Completes and maintains paperwork for parts
  • Rework nonconforming inventory items
  • Test and measure parts produced at Samson Controls and items from vendors
  • Comply with Samson Controls documented policies, procedures and objectives
  • Setup and operate CNC Lathe to make product to Prints specifications
  • Must be willing and able to work Monday-Thursday from 5:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and overtime as needed

Qualifications

  • Ability to read/understand written instructions (English language)
  • Ability to read/understand technical drawings and specifications
  • Mechanical skills (proper use of hand measuring tools, automated measuring devices)
  • Ability to calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, depth and angle of cut.

Education amp; Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • Min. of 3 years of experience setting up and running CNC Mill with 4 axis experience in Mill required
