Job description

Your Opportunity

At Schwab, you’re empowered to make an impact on your career. Here, innovative thought meets creative problem solving, helping us “challenge the status quo” and transform the finance industry together.

The Balance Sheet Forecasting & Analytics team sits within our first line of defense Corporate Treasury department. Balance Sheet Forecasting & Analytics is responsible for forecasting the balance sheets, Net Interest Income (NII) and capital actions in our business-as-usual FP&A and CCAR exercises. The team forecasts balance sheets with approximately $490 billion in consolidated assets, comprised of fixed-income investment portfolios totaling over $225 billion, consumer loan portfolios with approximately $165 billion in balance, an additional $70 billion in off-balance-sheet brokered deposit agreement notional investments, and $50 billion in derivative positions.

The Manager, Balance Sheet Forecasting & Analytics is a critical team member role within Corporate Treasury, responsible for executing forecasting processes to produce outputs, analytics, and insights that inform senior executive decision-making, investor communications, and regulatory submissions. Reporting to the Senior Manager, this role serves as a key contributor in producing and explaining results of the forecast. Additionally, the Manager has accountability for supporting the end-to-end delivery, alignment to strategic objectives, and consistent execution. The Manager is a contributor on a team of approximately four professionals across multiple locations.

This role is responsible for supporting the team’s forecasting and analytical capabilities while continuing to promote process improvement through modeling, automation, and process efficiency. Key areas of focus include strengthening business-as-usual forecasting, enhancing analytical depth, and expanding capabilities across NII forecasting, stress testing, and forward-looking scenario analysis. The Manager contributes to the development and execution of NII forecasting frameworks, including modeling approaches, attribution methodologies, and scenario analysis used to understand financial performance and key drivers.

In partnership with Finance, Risk, Technology, and other business stakeholders, the Manager is accountable for learning and improving data architecture, enhancing forecast integration, and strengthening end-to-end processes to increase transparency, consistency, and responsiveness to changing business conditions. The role abides by established governance frameworks and quality standards across forecasting outputs and analytical processes, while supporting and developing within a high-performing team focused on accountability, analytical rigor, and continuous improvement.

A core objective of this role is to aid the evolution of the team from a forecasting production function into a more strategic analytical team that delivers insights, challenges assumptions, and supports more informed business and capital decisions.

This position offers the opportunity to shape the future direction of Treasury forecasting and analytics, including advancing automation, improving the quality and usability of insights, and strengthening the integration of forecasting into enterprise decision-making.

What you have

Experience & Domain Expertise

  • 5+ years of relevant experience across Treasury, ALM, balance sheet management, capital markets, or fixed income analytics

  • Knowledge of NII forecasting, capital management (including CCAR), liquidity management, and interest rate risk in a large financial institution

  • Strong fixed-income investment modeling and analytical expertise

  • Experience running forecasting frameworks, scenario analysis, and attribution methodologies to support management decision-making

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with high standards for clarity and precision

Executive Engagement & Decision Support

  • Deliver clear, defensible insights to Treasury leadership and executive stakeholders, including C-suite audiences

  • Provide forward-looking scenario analysis and articulate implications for capital, liquidity, and earnings performance

  • Operate effectively in a high-pressure environment with frequent leadership inquiries and shifting priorities

Transformation & Capability Building

  • Advance forecasting capabilities across automation, data architecture, and analytical tooling

  • Improve forecasting frameworks, attribution methodologies, and scenario analysis

  • Support evolution from production forecasting to strategic analytics and insight generation

  • Translate macroeconomic shifts (e.g., rate changes) into expected financial impacts and challenge model outputs accordingly

  • Proficiency in ALM / NIR / Capital forecasting platforms (e.g., PolyPaths, QRM, or similar)

Judgment & Personal Effectiveness

  • Strong analytical judgment and disciplined decision-making

  • Ability to operate in ambiguity and develop innovative, forward-looking analyses with support of team members and manager

  • Relationship-oriented mindset with the ability to build credibility and trust across stakeholders

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred

  • Professional certification (e.g., CFA, FRM, PRM) preferred

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
