Job description

Bakery Clerks are responsible for preparing and producing fresh, high-quality baked goods while providing outstanding customer service in the bakery department. This position assists with baking, stocking, packaging, sanitation, and product rotation while helping maintain an organized and inviting department.

Requirements/Responsibilities

Maintain a positive attitude and promote teamwork, flexibility, and a customer-first environment.
Greet and assist customers promptly with bakery orders, questions, and product recommendations.
Prepare and produce quality baked goods that meet or exceed company and customer expectations.
Bake bread, rolls, pies, cookies, and other bakery products according to company recipes and production guidelines.
Complete daily production sheets and prepare frozen products for baking and display.
Stock and organize bakery merchandise and supplies.
Assist with proper rotation of products in coolers, freezers, and display cases to ensure freshness and quality.
Monitor and maintain accurate code dates on all bakery products.
Assist with ordering bakery products and supplies needed for daily operations.
Ensure all self-service packaged products are properly labeled, weighed, and packaged according to company and local weights and measures regulations.
Follow all company food safety and sanitation procedures.
Keep workstations, prep areas, equipment, and surrounding areas neat and clean.
Maintain clean, organized, and attractive bakery displays throughout the department.
Work collaboratively with team members in multiple food service areas as needed.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain on feet for extended periods.
Ability to safely handle bakery equipment, hot surfaces, and food products as needed.
