As a bakery manager, your central responsibilities are to ensure your bakery is profitable and well-maintained. You assess sales reports so you can see which of your baked goods or pastry are selling well and which are not. Based on your assessments, in consultation with the bakers and owners, you make decisions about what inventory you should to stock. Your duties also include managing the front-of-house staff. You make schedules and hire and train new employees. It is useful for a bakery manager to have job experience working in a bakery as an assistant manager or a shift leader.

1. Receives merchandise, utilizes equipment appropriately and monitors for repair, administers required paperwork, logs and other documentation.
2. Maintains salesfloor presentation by stocking and rotating merchandise, removing damaged or out-of-date goods, setting up and maintaining product displays, signing and pricing merchandise.
3. Participates in the recruitment, selection, training and development of all Bakery Associates.
