Job description

Line Cook – Multi-Station (Grill/Flat Top/Sear Top) | Reliable & On-Time a Must

Department:** Kitchen / Culinary
Reports To:** Kitchen Manager / Sous Chef
Employment Type:** Full-Time / Part-Time
Station Coverage:** Grill, Flat Top, Sear Top, Salad Station, Prep Station

Attendance & Punctuality Come First

Reliable, on-time attendance is the single most critical factor for success in this role. The kitchen depends on every station being covered at the start of service, and late or missed shifts directly impact the team and the guest experience. Candidates must be able to consistently show up on time, every time.

About the Role

We're looking for a dependable, skilled Line Cook to join our kitchen team. This role rotates across multiple stations — grill, flat top, sear top, salad, and prep — and requires someone who can move fluidly between them while maintaining consistent quality, speed, and food safety standards during service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook menu items to spec across grill, flat top, and sear top stations
  • Build and maintain the salad station, ensuring freshness, portioning, and presentation standards
  • Execute daily prep work — proteins, sauces, vegetables, and mise en place — ahead of service
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe station in line with health code and company standards
  • Communicate clearly with the pass, expo, and fellow cooks to keep ticket times on pace
  • Monitor food quality, temperature, and freshness throughout service
  • Follow recipes and portioning guides consistently to maintain food cost and quality standards
  • Rotate and cover stations as needed based on volume and staffing

What We're Looking For

  • **Punctual and reliable attendance — this is essential, not preferred**
  • Prior line cook experience across multiple stations (grill, flat top, sear top, salad, prep)
  • Corporate or multi-unit restaurant experience is a plus
  • Longer tenure at previous kitchen roles is a plus and viewed favorably
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills under pressure
  • Basic knife skills and familiarity with kitchen safety and sanitation practices
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the schedule

Why This Matters

Every station on the line depends on the next. A cook who is consistently on time and present for every shift is what keeps service running smoothly — that reliability is the foundation we're hiring for, and it will be weighted heavily throughout the interview process.
