Bait and tackle shops are retail stores specializing in selling fishing supplies, particularly live or artificial bait and fishing tackle such as rods, reels, lures, hooks, and lines. These shops cater to anglers by providing the necessary equipment and often offer expert advice on local fishing conditions, regulations, and best practices. Many bait and tackle shops also supply fishing licenses and basic repair services for gear. They play a key role in supporting recreational and sometimes commercial fishing activities in their communities.

Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems, inventory management software, and equipment maintenance tools is typically required. Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills help you assist customers and create a positive shopping experience. These abilities ensure customers receive expert advice and efficient service, fostering repeat business and shop success.
