Global Impact Group LLC is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and ISO 9001 / ISO 17100 certified provider of interpretation and translation services. We deliver secure, high-quality language support in 80+ spoken and signed languages for USCIS and other federal agencies.
We are seeking Bahasa Indonesia Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. Indonesian is a priority Southeast Asian language, widely spoken in Indonesia and by diaspora communities, often required in asylum and immigration cases.
Responsibilities
  • Provide real-time Bahasa Indonesia ↔ English telephonic interpretation for USCIS interviews, hearings, and official proceedings.
  • Interpret accurately, neutrally, and professionally in immigration, legal, and administrative settings.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in line with USCIS/DHS interpreter standards.
  • Manage both scheduled assignments and urgent/surge calls.
  • Participate in training, compliance refreshers, and quality assurance audits.
Qualifications
  • Native or near-native fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and English.
  • 2+ years of professional interpreting experience (immigration, legal, community, healthcare, or government preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity.
  • Excellent telephone communication skills; ability to remain accurate under pressure.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 federal clearance.
