Job description

We are seeking an experienced Bagging Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and diagnosing paper bag manufacturing equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. Experience with Holweg and Garant bag-making machines is highly preferred.

This position requires a mechanically inclined individual with prior manufacturing machine operation experience who can work independently while maintaining production standards and quality expectations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate paper bag manufacturing equipment, including Holweg and Garant machines.
  • Set up, adjust, and monitor machinery to maintain optimal production performance.
  • Diagnose mechanical and operational issues and perform basic troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and report equipment issues requiring repair.
  • Ensure products meet company quality standards and production specifications.
  • Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments throughout production runs.
  • Follow all safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards.
  • Maintain accurate production records and communicate equipment concerns to supervisors.
  • Work collaboratively with maintenance and production teams to maximize efficiency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • Prior experience operating manufacturing machinery.
  • Experience troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment around moving machinery.

Schedule

  • Full-time position.
  • Must be available to work overtime as needed.
