We are currently seeking dependable and motivated Baggage Handlers to join our airport operations team at St. Louis Lambert International Airport (STL). Position Summary

The Baggage Handler is responsible for safely and efficiently handling passenger baggage at ticket counters, baggage claim areas, and other designated airport locations. This essential role supports smooth airport operations while upholding Huntleigh USA's high standards of professionalism, safety, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely lift, load, unload, and transport passenger luggage to designated airport locations
  • Assist passengers and airline agents with placing bags on and off conveyor belts
  • Coordinate with airline agents regarding assignments and baggage handling updates
  • Provide passengers with directions and general airport information in a courteous manner
  • Follow airline procedures during irregular operations or special circumstances
  • Complete incident reports for accidents or unusual events
  • Load luggage carts and transport bags between designated areas
  • Maintain professionalism and adhere to all safety and operational standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or management
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • Previous experience in baggage handling, customer service, airport operations, or hospitality is a plus
  • Strong communication skills and professional demeanor
  • Ability to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions in English
  • Must pass pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screenings (DOT or Non-DOT as required)
  • Reliable transportation to and from work
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 75 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, and move for extended periods
  • Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
Work Environment
  • Fast-paced airport setting with daily interaction with passengers and airline personnel
  • Exposure to moving equipment, outdoor weather conditions, and moderate noise levels
  • Work around active aircraft and ground service operations
