Overview

The Baggage Service Driver is responsible for safely transporting baggage and supporting premium ground handling services for high-profile individuals and VIP travelers. This role requires operating company vehicles on the airport ramp, handling baggage with care and professionalism, and maintaining exceptional customer service standards in a fast-paced aviation environment.

  • Position is part-time
  • Must have at least conversational English

Key responsibility

  • Safely transport baggage between designated airport ramp areas, aircraft, terminals, and service locations
  • Load and unload passenger baggage, oversized items, and specialty luggage while ensuring proper handling procedures
  • Provide white-glove baggage support for VIP and high-profile travelers with discretion and professionalism
  • Operate baggage carts, tugs, and company vehicles in compliance with airport safety regulations
  • Conduct pre-operation inspections of vehicles and equipment and report any maintenance or safety concerns immediately
  • Maintain clear communication with dispatch, supervisors, and operational teams throughout the shift
  • Ensure baggage is handled accurately and delivered within required service timelines
  • Follow all ramp safety procedures, including aircraft approach/departure protocols and PPE requirements
  • Assist with baggage reconciliation and verification when needed
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of baggage areas, equipment, and workspaces
  • Provide excellent customer service while interacting with passengers, airport personnel, and airline representatives
  • Comply with all company policies, airport regulations, and security requirements
  • Perform additional operational duties as assigned by leadership

Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Valid Driverโ€™s License required
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a SIDA badge

Experience

  • Previous ramp, baggage handling, aviation, or ground handling experience preferred
  • Experience operating vehicles or equipment in an airport or outdoor operational environment preferred
  • Familiarity with airport safety procedures and baggage handling operations is a plus

Skill and ability

  • Ability to speak, read, and understand English required
  • Must be able to pass the driving report
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work professionally with high-profile individuals and maintain confidentiality when necessary
  • Position may require flexible scheduling, including weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to work rotating shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as operationally required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety and attention to detail
  • Professional appearance and adherence to company grooming and uniform standards
  • Must successfully pass a criminal background check and drug screening prior to employment

Physical Demands

Job duties include but are not limited to lifting, pulling, pushing, grasping, twisting, reaching overhead and below shoulder level, standing for extended periods, walking long distances, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, and working outdoors in various weather conditions. This position regularly requires lifting and moving baggage and equipment weighing up to approximately 70 pounds. Employees may work near moving aircraft, heavy equipment, jet noise, and other mechanical operations in active airport ramp environments. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.

Work Environment

This position operates primarily outdoors in an airport ramp environment with exposure to varying weather conditions, aircraft noise, fumes, and moving ground service equipment. Employees must follow strict airport safety and security procedures at all times. The role requires frequent coordination with operations teams, supervisors, dispatch, and airport personnel to ensure efficient and safe baggage handling operations.
