WAGE: $17 / hour (Minimum Age 16)

Be the unseen hero behind the screams! As a ValleyScare Blackout, you'll support our scare actors and guests by ensuring safety, smooth operations, and an immersive experience in our haunted attractions.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor backstage and performance areas to support ValleyScare Talent safety
  • Guide performers through dark or low-visibility spaces
  • Observe guest behavior and report unsafe conduct or line jumping
  • Enforce attraction rules and assist with guest concerns or emergencies
  • Help disoriented or frightened guests exit calmly and safely
  • Maintain a calm, professional presence in high-stress situations
  • Handle props and scenic elements with care (no resets required)
  • Keep backstage areas clean and organized
  • Treat all guests and team members with respect and courtesy
  • Support attraction operations and assist with other duties as needed

Qualifications:

Calm under pressure and able to think clearly in fast-paced environments
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Experience in live entertainment or backstage operations is a plus
Familiarity with show safety, guest flow, and emergency procedures
Comfortable working in low-light, foggy, or strobe-lit areas
Able to work closely with performers in costume and makeup
