Job description

Behind the Scenes is a premier Catering Company with 25 years of industry experience with backstage concert catering in San Diego and across the country. We are seeking a dedicated and professional Catering Server to join our team and help deliver exceptional hospitality experiences. This role is essential in ensuring the seamless execution of catering events, maintaining the highest standards of service, and exceeding guest expectations.

This position is assisting with backstage concert catering for touring and local crew. The ideal candidate is passionate about hospitality, possesses excellent communication and time-management skills, operates with discretion, and thrives in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. Attention to detail, professionalism, and a commitment to creating memorable guest experiences are key to success in this role.

Venues we frequent: North Island Credit Amphitheater, Pechanga Sports Arena, Petco Park, Gallagher Square and Frontwave Arena.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with dining room set up with linens and or decor.
  • Assist with buffet set-up according to BEO and timelines or transitions between meal services. ย 
  • Monitor and maintain buffet ensuring serving utensils and service plates are cleaned throughout service.
  • Rotate and replenish chafing dishes periodically to ensure they remain full throughout service.
  • Set and or replenish beverage coolers throughout service.
  • Set or replenish snack station(s) throughout service ensuring items are organized and displayed properly.
  • Always maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the event manager.
  • Assist with the cleaning and breakdown of the event venue after the event.

Requirements:

  • Currently possess or is willing to obtain a Responsible Beverage Service Training ID number.
  • ย Previous experience in the food service industry, preferably in catering or banquet service.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Scheduling:

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • This is a part-time position with potential to work 12-20 hours in peak concert season.
  • Shift types include:
    • AM shifts ranging from 5:00am-3:00pm
    • Mid Shifts ranging from 10:00am-7:30pm
    • PM Shifts ranging from 3:00pm-10:00pm

Pay:

  • This position starts at $20 per hour will the potential for a raise based on hours worked and performance.
  • This position also offers growth opportunities within the organization.
