About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Back End Engineer to join our team and take ownership of different parts of our stack. You will be working alongside our CTO on all aspects of the current product and future product development. You will work directly with the founding team and leverage your experiences and abilities to inform decisions from product, technology, and strategy. You will help us build the foundation of this company: its culture, its processes, and its practices. There are a ton of interesting problems to solve, so come hungry. Responsibilities
  • Write review, and ship code in production that drives meaningful customer and business outcomes.
  • Leverage Generative AI tools daily to improve the quality, speed, and effectiveness of both technical and non-technical work.
  • Take ownership of the software you build, ensuring it delivers value in production and remains reliable and maintainable throughout its lifecycle.
  • Evaluate and drive technical decisions with a long-term perspective, balancing speed, quality, security, and scalability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex production challenges while serving as a trusted technical resource for the broader team.
  • Learn and adapt quickly to unfamiliar technologies, codebases, and domains, applying first-principles thinking and curiosity to solve complex problems.
  • Create technical champions by building demos, prototypes, examples, and technical content that help developers understand and adopt new technologies.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, designers, sales executives, and other stakeholders to deliver exceptional outcomes in an in-person environment.
  • Communicate openly, share the rationale behind important decisions, and actively seek feedback to keep the team aligned and moving forward.
  • Champion improvements across the enterprise software development lifecycle and advocate for better ways of building, deploying, and operating software.

Qualifications
Our hiring process is designed for you to demonstrate a generalist set of capabilities, with a specialization in Back End Technologies.
Successful candidates must have expertise in Python, Terraform, and GCP, and experience with some of the following:
Backend Frameworks and Technologies - Node.js, NuxtJS, Express.js or Python
  • Cloud Platforms - Google Cloud, AWS, Azure or Vercel
  • Programming languages - Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, C++, Go
  • RPCs - REST, gRPC or GraphQL
  • Databases - SQL, NoSQL, Postgres, MongoDB, or Firebase
  • CI / CD - Jenkins, CircleCI, GitLab or similar
  • Source code versioning tools such as Git or Perforce
  • Microservices architecture
  • Familiarity with AI Platforms - OpenAI, Anthropic, HuggingFace, Vertex AI, Bedrock, or SageMaker
  • Extensive experience with building enterprise-scale applications with >99% SLAs
  • Extensive Experience in Python, Terraform, and GCP

Salary Range: $160,000 - $220,000 base salary + Bonus + Equity
