Job Summary:
Vanda Pharmaceuticals is a company focused on healthcare solutions, and they are seeking a Back End Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications. Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable full stack web applications using Ruby on Rails and modern frontend technologies
• Build responsive and high-performance user interfaces using VueJS, ReactJS, TypeScript, BlueprintJS, TailwindCSS, and/or Bootstrap
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and GraphQL services for internal applications and third-party integrations
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand workflows, identify operational gaps, and build scalable technical solutions
• Develop reusable frontend components and scalable backend architectures following best practices
• Work with relational and NoSQL databases including PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and DynamoDB
• Integrate and maintain Salesforce integrations and data synchronization workflows between internal applications, CRM platforms, and third-party systems
• Integrate third-party services and payment gateways such as Stripe and Authorize.net
• Build secure authentication, authorization, and role-based access systems
• Implement automated testing and quality assurance processes including Cypress testing
• Optimize applications for scalability, reliability, performance, and security
• Work with AWS cloud infrastructure including EC2, API Gateway, Lambda, RDS, and S3
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and Git-based development workflows
• Participate in code reviews, debugging, troubleshooting, and continuous platform improvements
• Ensure applications comply with healthcare and data security standards including HIPAA, GDPR, and 21 CFR Part 11
• Support data processing workflows, ETL pipelines, and integrations involving clinical or healthcare datasets
Qualifications:
Required:
• 4+ years of professional experience as a Full Stack Developer
• Strong proficiency in Ruby and Ruby on Rails
• Strong frontend development experience with VueJS, ReactJS, and TypeScript
• Experience with BlueprintJS, TailwindCSS, and/or Bootstrap
• Experience developing RESTful APIs and GraphQL services
• Familiarity with GraphiQL and API debugging tools
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL and MySQL databases
• Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and DynamoDB
• Familiarity with Nuxt, Next.js, or other modern frontend frameworks
• Experience with Cypress or similar frontend testing frameworks
• Experience integrating Salesforce platforms and APIs
• Experience integrating payment gateways such as Stripe and Authorize.net
• Experience with Git version control and CI/CD workflows
• Familiarity with AWS cloud services and deployment practices
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Excellent communication and analytical skills
