Role: NodeJS (Backend) Developer with Azure Experience
Location: Chicago, IL - 100% Onsite from day 1
Long Term Contract - W2 & C2C
About the Role:
We are seeking a Strong Backend Web Developer with strong expertise in NodeJS and Azure to join our high-performing SLA Management development team. This role is pivotal in driving the next phase of our SLA management web application, building secure, scalable, and efficient backend APIs that power mission-critical services. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, technically strong, and can work independently across the entire backend stack, with a focus on Azure cloud infrastructure and RESTful API development.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain scalable, secure, and efficient RESTful APIs using NodeJS on Linux-based environments.
  • Design and implement cloud-native solutions deployed on Microsoft Azure.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including frontend, QA, DevOps, and product teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to best practices in architecture, coding standards, and security protocols.
  • Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks, implement bug fixes, and optimize code.
  • Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and sprint planning sessions.
  • Create technical documentation and maintain up-to-date system design artifacts.
Required Qualifications:
  • 8-10+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Minimum 4-7 years of experience developing server-side APIs using NodeJS.
  • Hands-on experience deploying and managing applications on Azure Cloud, with understanding of associated services (App Services, Functions, Storage, etc.).
  • Solid background in both relational and NoSQL/document-based databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
  • Knowledge of security standards and protocols such as OpenID Connect (OIDC) and OAuth 2.0.
  • Experience working on complex, enterprise-grade systems with multiple cross-functional teams.
  • Deep understanding of Linux environments and container-based deployments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a critical thinking approach.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal & written) for working with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to assess business impact and recommend improvements.
  • Proactive attitude toward identifying process efficiencies and technical improvements.
  • Flexible and adaptable to evolving project requirements and shifting priorities.
