Position Summary

The Clinical Informatics Patient Access Trainer serves as a liaison between Clinical Informatics, Information Systems, ambulatory practices, and end users to support the effective use of the electronic medical record and related patient access (front-end/back-end office) workflows. The Trainer develops and delivers education for new and existing staff, provides ongoing system and workflow support, assists with issue resolution, maintains training resources and environments, and supports implementations, upgrades, and go-live activities. Through practice rounding, collaboration, communication, and workflow assessment, the trainer promotes patient safety, system optimization, consistent adoption, and a positive end-user experience across Aultman provider practices.

  • Develops education plans, training materials, and supporting resources for clinical information systems and workflows.
  • Provides system and workflow training for newly hired personnel.
  • Delivers ongoing education and training related to clinical information system applications, functionality, and workflow changes.

  • Provides education, workflow, and end-user support during go-live implementations, application deployments, and system upgrades.
  • Coordinates with practice leaders and appropriate support teams to prepare offices for planned and unplanned system downtime, including maintaining downtime procedures and resources, educating staff on downtime and recovery workflows, and supporting Business Continuity and Disaster Preparedness (BCDP) activities.

Working Conditions

  • Primarily works day shift, with off-shift, evening, or weekend coverage as needed to support implementations, go-live activities, and operational needs.
  • Full-time position with hours established according to departmental and operational needs.
  • Works collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams across clinical, operational, and technical departments.
  • Requires routine local travel to Aultman provider practice locations to deliver training, conduct rounding, support implementations, and address operational needs.
