Back End Associate information

What is a back end associate?

Back End Associates are employees who typically work in the back end of retail stores or warehouses, handling tasks such as receiving shipments, stocking shelves, processing inventory, and ensuring the sales floor remains organized. They are responsible for the smooth operation of store logistics and may also assist with unloading trucks, managing stockrooms, and preparing products for display. This role is crucial for maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting the sales team by ensuring products are readily available for customers.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a back end associate?

To thrive as a Back End Associate, you need strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and experience in retail operations or inventory management. Familiarity with inventory tracking systems, point-of-sale (POS) software, and warehouse equipment is typically required. Dependability, teamwork, and effective communication are vital soft skills for collaborating with front-end staff and maintaining smooth store operations. These skills ensure efficient stock management, accurate inventory control, and a well-organized retail environment.

What are some common challenges faced by back end associates in a retail environment, and how can they be managed?

Back End Associates in retail often encounter challenges such as managing high volumes of inventory during peak hours, staying organized in fast-paced stockrooms, and maintaining accurate records for incoming and outgoing shipments. Effective communication with both front-end staff and management is key to addressing stock discrepancies and ensuring products are available on the sales floor when needed. Staying proactive, utilizing inventory management systems, and working collaboratively with team members can help overcome these challenges and contribute to a smooth store operation.

What skills are needed for back end associate jobs?

Back End Associate roles typically require strong technical skills such as proficiency in programming languages like Java, Python, or SQL, along with knowledge of databases, server management, and API integration. Good problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to work with development tools and version control systems are also important. Familiarity with software development life cycle and basic understanding of front-end technologies can be beneficial.

This is an ideal opportunity for clinicians who want to build a consistent caseload quickly, grow their clinical skills in a private practice setting, and steadily increase their earnings as they progress toward independent licensure.
Why Join Ellie Mental Health?
At Ellie, we believe clinicians do their best work when they feel supported, respected, and connected. We don't believe in throwing associates into the deep end without a liferaft.
  • Supervision You Can Trust: Regular clinical supervision and mentorship across multiple licensure tracks.
  • Caseload Security: We utilize robust insurance contracts supporting incident-to billing so you can see a broader range of clients right away.
  • Focus on Clients, Not Paperwork: Our administrative team handles the back-end billing and scheduling logistics so you can focus entirely on clinical care.
  • Culture First: A warm, collaborative team environment that values authenticity, humor, and mutual growth.

Responsibilities
  • Provide individual, couples, family, or group therapy based on clinical experience and client needs.
  • Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation within our EHR system.

  • A strong desire to work toward full, independent licensure.
  • Excellent communication, boundary-setting, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic group practice culture.

Compensation: $60,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
Seeking creative & collaborative humans with a passion for changing mental health care in fun and meaningful ways
Don't meet EVERY requirement?
Studies have shown that women and people of color are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every single qualification. Ellie Mental Health is devoted to purposefully building an inclusive and diverse workplace where all of our humans can be their authentic selves! (Authenticity is one of our core values, after all...) If you're excited about the chance to be a change-maker with us, but your past experience doesn't perfectly align with every single qualification of the job description, we encourage you to apply anyways. Our mental health jobs need dedicated individuals from every background who are willing to care for others. And who knows, you might just be the perfect candidate for another role!
Employee Experience
We take care of our people. It's that simple. From investing in their financial future, to providing wages that shatter the ceiling in our industry to reasonable caseload expectations we ensure that our people are happy. Happy employees do better work and provide better client care! No matter what it is that you do in your mental health career at Ellie, our clients depend on us cultivating an environment where our employees can thrive so that they can thrive too!
Y'all, jobs in mental health are tough jobs with a high risk of emotional fatigue and burnout. At Ellie, we use all of our core values of humor, creativity, authenticity, acceptance, determination, and compassion not just out in our communities, but we turn them inwards too! Our employees have clear growth paths for advancing their careers.
We have created a culture that reminds us that our employees are our leaders!
Company Structure
Ellie is a socially responsible for-profit business, which allows us to be flexible and responsive to our community's needs. Many mental health and wellness-focused companies are non-profits or government agencies, which rely on the general public, grants, or large donors for funding. This model often results in little creativity and lower compensation for employees, promoting a work culture that just makes people feel "blah."
Feeling blah doesn't help employees stay motivated, engaged, or even in their jobs for a very long time! So we created a new model: one that puts flexibility, innovative decision-making, creativity, and our people first, while remaining a socially conscious and responsible for-profit business focused on changing how we treat mental health.
In short, we're just people helping people. Wanna join the herd?
