Job description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in School Psychology, active School Psychologist license and minimum 1+ years School Psychologist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Step into a rewarding opportunity to support students as a School Psychologist for a full school year in a vibrant school community near Irmo, SC! This full-time, contract-based position offers 37.5 hours per week and a chance to make a lasting difference in the educational and emotional journeys of children and adolescents.

As a valued specialist, you’ll provide direct and consultative services, using your expertise in psychological assessments, individualized educational planning, and behavioral interventions. Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to create positive, inclusive learning environments.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited program
  • Valid state certification or licensure as a School Psychologist (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Previous experience in a school setting preferred, but outstanding new graduates are welcome to apply
  • Solid understanding of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), Response to Intervention (RTI), and Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, staff, and families
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and be adaptable within a dynamic educational environment

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychoeducational assessments to determine students’ academic, behavioral, and emotional needs
  • Consult and collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families on intervention strategies and individualized education programs (IEPs)
  • Develop and implement targeted interventions to support student growth
  • Participate in crisis prevention and response, providing short-term counseling when needed
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
