Job Description:
Summary:
The Manager, Accounting will provide financial advice, analysis, and leadership by serving as a technical expert and liaison between operations managers/directions and financial services. The Manager is directly responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely completion of the close schedule, coordinating data requests for regulatory reporting and audits, and other internal and external needs as requested. Leads the department in ensuring timely filing of sales and use tax, business license forms, property taxes, escheatment, etc. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with all laws, rules, and regulations for assigned areas and assists in developing and implementing standard work and processes consistent with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. This individual will be responsible for review of general ledger reconciliations, monthly trial balances, and budget preparations and analysis for assigned areas. Assists the controller by providing day-to-day support for all accounting functions and has direct supervision for a team of staff accountants. Provides training and support to other Accounting and Finance staff as well as other leaders throughout the organization. The manager is responsible for hiring, training, development, and providing general leadership to the respective team members.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required. Master's degree strongly preferred. Five (5) years' experience in accounting or finance, with at least three (3) years professional experience in healthcare setting, required. At least one (1) year of leadership experience preferred.
Licenses and Certifications:
Valid and active HFMA, CPA, CMA, or similar accounting or healthcare certification required.
